If you access and use this web site (the “Site”), you accept and agree to be bound by, and comply with, these terms (the “Terms”).

If you do not accept the Terms, do not use the Site.

The Terms are to be read by you together with any terms, conditions or disclaimers provided in the pages of the Site. In the event of any conflict, the terms provided in the pages of the Site will govern.

The information, material and content provided in the pages of the Site (the “Information”) may be changed at any time without notice. Changes may be made to the Terms at any time without notice by updating this posting. You agree to view the Terms regularly and your continued access or use of the Site will mean that you agree to any changes.

Not Offering Any Advice
The Information is for informational purposes only and is not intended to provide specific financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice to you, and should not be relied upon in that regard. The Information is believed to be accurate and reliable when placed on the Site, but the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc. (the “CLHIA”) does not guarantee that it will remain accurate or that it will be complete or current at all times.

No Warranties
The CLHIA provides the Site and the Information on an “as is, where is” basis and does not make any express or implied warranties, representations, endorsements or conditions with respect to the Site or the Information, including without limitation, warranties as to operation, non-infringement, usefulness and fitness for a particular purpose. Further, the CLHIA does not represent or warrant that the Site will be available and meet your requirements, that access will be uninterrupted, that there will be no delays, failures, errors or omissions or loss of transmitted information, that no viruses or other contaminating or destructive properties will be transmitted or that no damage will occur to your computer system. You have sole responsibility for adequate protection and backup of data and/or equipment and to take reasonable and appropriate precautions to scan for computer viruses or other destructive properties.

Certain contents of the Site, such as the Guidelines, are protected by copyright. The display of copyright on pages of the Site does not imply that a licence of any kind has been granted to anyone else. The Information is for your personal use only. Any unauthorized downloading, re-transmission, or other copying or modification of contents of the Site subject to copyright may be a violation of federal legislation or other law that may apply to copyright and could subject the copier to legal action.

Internet E-Mail
As with the case with communication via any public medium, such as cellular phones, any unprotected e-mail communication over the Internet is not confidential, is subject to possible interception or loss, and is also subject to possible alteration. The CLHIA is not responsible for and will not be liable to you or anyone else for any damages in connection with an e-mail sent by you to the CLHIA or an e-mail sent by the CLHIA to you at your request.

No Endorsements
No endorsement or approval of any third parties or their advice, opinions, information, products or services is expressed or implied by any Information provided on the Site.

No Liability
The CLHIA is not responsible for, and will not be liable to you or anyone else for, any damages whatsoever (including direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages) arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Site or the Information, or any action or decision made by you in reliance on the Site or the Information, or any unauthorized use or reproduction of the Site or the Information, even if the CLHIA has been advised of the possibility of these damages.

Links/Software
Links from or to web sites outside the Site are meant for convenience only. The CLHIA does not review, endorse, approve or control, and is not responsible for any sites linked from or to the Site, the content of those sites, the third parties named therein, or their products and services. Linking to any other site is at your sole risk and the CLHIA will not be responsible or liable for any damages in connection with linking. Links to downloadable software sites are for convenience only and the CLHIA is not responsible or liable for any difficulties or consequences associated with downloading the software. Use of any downloaded software is governed by the terms of the license agreement, if any, which accompanies or is provided with the software.

Event Registration and Payment
As a part of the event registration and payment process, the CLHIA collects and/or verifies information about each registrant. In providing such information, each registrant represents and warrants that: (a) the information they have provided is true, accurate, current, and complete as required by the CLHIA registration forms ("Registration Data") and (b) each registrant will maintain and promptly update the Registration Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. If the registrant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the CLHIA has the right to suspend registration and will contact the registrant to correct the information before accepting payment.

All information collected and used by the CLHIA for the purpose of registration is strictly governed by the CLHIA's Privacy Policy and these Terms of Use.

By registering to attend an event, registrants agree to pay the registration fee in full. Payment is due upon registration. Registrants may pay online through the CLHIA's service provider.

All funds credited to the CLHIA will be in Canadian dollars only, unless otherwise arranged with the CLHIA.

Event Registrant Cancellations, Refunds and Substitutions
Registrants may cancel their registration by providing the reason for the cancellation to events@clhia.ca.

Cancellation requests received ten (10) or more business days before the first day of the event will be eligible for a refund, less an administration fee of $200 plus applicable taxes for multi-day conferences and $100 plus applicable taxes for one-day events.

After that date, registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds will be processed within five (5) business days of the request being received and may only be issued to the credit card used at registration.

Substitutions are permitted at any time for no additional charge. To substitute a colleague for your registration, please provide their name, title and contact information to events@clhia.ca.

Paid registration fees may not be transferred between events.

Event Sponsorship Cancellations and Refunds
Sponsors may cancel their sponsorship contract without penalty within forty-five (45) business days before the first day of the event. Cancellations received within this period will be eligible for a full refund. Refunds will be issued by EFT and processed within ten (10) business days of the request being received. To cancel your sponsorship, send an email to events@clhia.ca.

Cancellation requests received after that date are non-refundable. Paid sponsorship fees may not be transferred between events or carried forward to future years.

Jurisdiction
The Site is administered by the CLHIA from its offices in Toronto, Canada. The Site will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws. All disputes, controversies or claims arising out of or in connection with the Site shall be submitted to and be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario. You submit and attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario to finally adjudicate or determine any suit, action or proceeding arising out of or in connection with the Site.
